Our ESG Strategic Pillars

ZilLearn is committed to making a difference in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues that matter to our customers, employees and shareholders.

Our aim is to transform learning with technology and improve the overall return on investment in training and education by helping people learn more efficiently, effectively, and make a positive impact in their performance.

Our business activities and major themes of our community efforts echo many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as Quality Education, Gender Equality and Partnerships, and we are committed to do our part in achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.

Our ESG Strategic Pillars

Here are the primary focus areas of our ESG priorities:

Sustainable Operations

Climate change, carbon emissions and waste generation are environmental issues that are prominent agendas at global sustainability forums, and continue to pose serious threats to the environment in which we operate.

At ZilLearn, we believe in operating sustainably. We are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our business and recognize the importance of adopting environmentally conscious behaviours and sound practices.

This commitment impacts our operations and guides our approach in working with like-minded vendors and partners with similar values around creating sustainable operations.

Nurture and Respect for Employees

Our employees are our biggest assets and we recognize the vital role they play in ensuring that we deliver on our business objectives.

At ZilLearn, we nurture our employees to be the best version of themselves and foster an environment centered on respect for our employees.

We believe that attracting and retaining the best talent, celebrating diversity and inclusion, supporting their professional growth and development by providing them with opportunities to be equipped with skills to advance their careers and be ready for the future workforce, looking after their health, safety and well-being, as well as understanding their need for greater flexibility in terms of work arrangements, is what makes ZilLearn a great place to work.

Giving Back to Communities

We are committed to being a valued partner to the communities in which we operate by supporting community efforts that build human capacity and preserve human dignity through learning.

For this reason, we devote our resources to supporting the disadvantaged groups, such as the financially deprived, disabled and youths at-risk, in community efforts targeted at creating education, training and employability opportunities.

Here are some of the ways we have contributed to the communities in the recent 2 years:

  1. As part of Kydon Group, we were one of the consortium of partners in Singapore’s Emerging Stronger Taskforce Alliances for Action on EduTech, and had the privilege of leading the consortium to create a skills gap analysis and learning pathway personalization platform with the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and in collaboration with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) on how we can make relevant learning recommendations to job seekers in Singapore.
  1. ZilLearn has committed USD 1,000,000 to help create learning content to solve Asia’s widening skills mismatch and bolster jobs for the region’s workforce.
  1. We are working with EAGLE Learning in Zimbabwe, a global non profit organization who uses ZilLearn to make learning accessible to their marginalized communities. In Singapore, we are working with NACE (National Centre for Excellence for Workplace Learning) to perform skills gap assessments for Singapore’s workforce, so that learning can be more targeted at building in-demand skills in line with industry needs.
  1. ZilLearn’s “Learn and Share” campaign is our latest endeavor to raise SGD 1,000,000 over the course of 6 months in conjunction with the public launch of ZilLearn Plus, a cloud-based learning subscription plan designed to address skills gap in today’s workforce and better prepare workers for tomorrow’s workforce. We do this in support of community efforts across 10 or more charitable organizations in Singapore, in addition to our participation in the SG Cares Giving Week, jointly organized by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and the SG Cares Office. This campaign is also a testament to our resolve to make doing good a part of doing well, where we commit to donate SGD 20 towards a charitable organization that we adopt, for every new subscriber onboarded to the platform.

Responsible Business Practices

We understand that the success of our business depends on building long-lasting relationships with our customers. To gain their trust and confidence, we strive to put our customers first and operate all facets of our business with utmost integrity.

At ZilLearn, we are committed to full compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all our business dealings, including cybersecurity, data privacy, responsible marketing and selling, as well as product and service quality.

Good Governance

Strong corporate governance perpetuates our culture and every level of life and how decision-making at ZilLearn, founded on our commitment to hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in everything we do, as we strive to create continued value for our customers, employees and shareholders.
